As the "3·15" Consumer Rights Day approaches, the Zhenjiang Bureau of Quality Supervision has released the results of last year’s provincial quality inspections and spot checks, aiming to guide consumers and promote safer purchasing decisions. The findings revealed that a significant number of non-compliant products were found in categories such as eyewear and protective footwear.
Last year, the Provincial Bureau of Quality Supervision conducted comprehensive inspections on 322 types of products (excluding food items), covering areas like automotive and motorcycle lighting systems, eyeglass lenses, spectacle frames, knitted clothing, summer wear, low-voltage complete equipment sets, and special labor protection gear. A total of 1,041 batches were tested, with 1,394 of them passing the inspection, resulting in an overall pass rate of 96.74%. This shows that the majority of products met the required standards, but there is still room for improvement in certain sectors.
According to the report, the city identified 47 batches of substandard products last year, with the most common issues found in glasses and protective footwear. These findings highlight the importance of continued monitoring and enforcement to ensure product safety and consumer confidence. Authorities have urged manufacturers to improve quality control measures and advised consumers to be cautious when selecting such items, especially those related to vision and personal protection.
