As the "3·15" Consumer Rights Day approaches, the Zhenjiang Bureau of Quality Supervision has released the results of last year's provincial quality inspections to help guide consumers and raise awareness about product safety. The findings revealed that a number of substandard products were identified, with eyewear and protective footwear being among the most common issues.
Last year, the Provincial Bureau of Quality Supervision conducted comprehensive inspections on 322 types of products (excluding food items), covering areas such as automotive and motorcycle lighting systems, eyeglass lenses, frames, knitted clothing, summer wear, low-voltage complete equipment sets, and specialized labor protection gear. A total of 1,041 batches were tested, with 1,394 of them passing the inspection, resulting in an overall pass rate of 96.74%. While this is a relatively high success rate, it still highlights the need for continued vigilance and improvement in product quality standards.
Locally, Zhenjiang identified 47 batches of non-compliant products throughout the year, with glasses and protective footwear making up the majority of these cases. These findings emphasize the importance of regular quality checks and consumer education to ensure that only safe and reliable products reach the market.
The bureau also encouraged consumers to be more informed and cautious when purchasing products, especially those related to personal safety, such as eyewear and protective gear. By staying updated on the latest inspection results and reporting any suspicious or faulty products, consumers can play a vital role in maintaining high-quality standards across the marketplace.
