Jaw crushers are known for their impressive performance, featuring a substantial crushing ratio, consistent product particle size, straightforward design, dependable operation, minimal maintenance requirements, and cost-effective running expenses. As the core component of the entire system, the jaw crusher plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the equipment. Hence, during its operation, it’s essential to monitor the bearing's condition closely. One prevalent issue is overheating of the bearings. If this occurs while the jaw crusher is in motion, what steps should be taken?
Firstly, the bearing might be damaged or may have received an excessive amount of lubrication. A simple resolution would involve consulting the user manual thoroughly and adhering to the recommended oiling schedule meticulously.
Secondly, the oil passages could be blocked, preventing proper lubrication. To address this, shut down the machine and clean both the oil passages and tanks to remove any obstructions.
Thirdly, the counterweight of the flywheel might be improperly positioned, causing the frame to vibrate. Adjust the counterweight block accordingly to stabilize the frame.
Fourthly, the locking bushing might experience axial movement. This can be resolved by removing the bearing cover from the frame, securing the locking bushing, and either replacing the flywheel or groove wheel, or installing a new locking bushing to ensure stability.
Fifthly, wear on the bearing or damage to the cage could be the culprit. In such cases, repairing or replacing the bearing and cage is advisable.
Sixthly, non-bearing related issues such as friction between the moving jaw sealing sleeve and the end cover, or the rotation of the double insert cover with the spindle, could also lead to increased temperatures. Replace the end cover and sealing sleeve, or adjust the upper bearing cover at one end of the frame bearing seat, secure the insert cover into the groove, and reattach the upper bearing cover to stop the rotation.
