Steel Grating Specifications
Steel grating is a versatile and durable product commonly used in industrial, commercial, and structural applications. It is made up of a series of bearing bars and cross bars that are welded together to form a strong, open-grid structure. This design allows for excellent load distribution while maintaining good visibility and airflow. The specifications of steel grating can vary depending on the material, bar spacing, and finishing options.
Bearing Bars
The primary load-bearing elements of steel grating are the bearing bars, which are typically manufactured from rolled steel, sheet metal, or slit steel. These bars are often shaped into an I-profile (I-bar) to enhance their strength and stability. To improve traction and safety, the surface of the bearing bars may be serrated or patterned. This makes them ideal for use in walkways, platforms, and other high-traffic areas where slip resistance is essential.
Materials
Steel grating is most commonly made from either mild carbon steel or stainless steel. Mild carbon steel is preferred in heavy-duty applications due to its high tensile strength and cost-effectiveness. On the other hand, stainless steel, particularly grades 304 and 316, is chosen when corrosion resistance is a priority, especially in environments exposed to moisture, chemicals, or harsh weather conditions.
Finishing Options
To enhance durability and aesthetics, steel grating can be finished in several ways. One of the most common methods is galvanization, where the steel is coated with a layer of zinc to prevent rust and extend its lifespan. Another popular option is painting, which offers both protection and a range of color choices. Some manufacturers also offer untreated grating, allowing customers to apply their own finish based on specific project requirements. Additionally, hot-dip galvanizing is a process where the entire grating is submerged in molten zinc, ensuring a uniform and long-lasting protective coating.
Wire Mesh Wound Polyethylene Pipe
Cross helically wound steel wires reinforced-polyethylene composite pipe (SRCP) is a kind of composite metal plastic pipe with excellent overall performance. With excellent pressure bearing performance, good flexibility, long-term resistance to acid and alkaline corrosion and abrasion, it is suitable for long-distance underground pipes for water supply and drainage, slurry transportation and the like, especially for subsidence region such as mining area, river channel.
