Leather shoes can further be categorized based on their construction techniques, such as adhesive, molded, injection-molded, or stitched. Anti-static shoes help dissipate static charge from the body, protecting against low-voltage shocks (up to 250V). Conductive shoes allow for rapid discharge of static electricity but are only suitable for environments where there is no risk of electric shock. Electrically insulating shoes, on the other hand, provide a barrier between the wearer's feet and charged objects, effectively preventing electric shocks.
Important Tips for Wearing Electrical Protective Footwear
When using anti-static or conductive shoes, it is important not to wear thick insulated socks or insoles, as this may interfere with their effectiveness. The flooring in areas where these shoes are used should be anti-static or conductive, respectively. It is recommended to perform resistance tests at least once every 200 hours of use. Store the shoes in a dry, well-ventilated area, away from oils, acids, alkalis, and other corrosive substances. From the date of production, any product older than 18 months must undergo a standard electrical performance test before being sold or used. For electrically insulating shoes, the working environment should remain dry, and the shoes should be kept away from sharp objects, high temperatures, and chemicals that could damage the material. If the sole is corroded or damaged, the shoes should not be used as insulating footwear. Products over 24 months old must also be tested for electrical performance, and only those meeting safety standards can be sold or worn. Each preventive test result is valid for a maximum of six months.
