At present, the residue recovery technology—beam-shaped medium-deep hole technology and full-trackless mechanized residue recovery system—is now in practical use. After applying these two technologies, Jiangxi Jinshan's existing 655,000 tons of residue will be fully recovered, which will increase the company's economic benefits by 50 million yuan.

Although the residue has a high value of development and utilization, but the old goaf volume is more than tens of thousands of cubic meters, the secondary recovery is facing the risk of top-lift, sheet and other security risks. The long-term existence of the mined-out area has also become a hidden danger for secondary disasters such as ground subsidence.

In order to completely solve this problem, in 2008, China National Gold Group decided to use the newly completed Jinshan orefield in Jiangxi Province as a base to explore effective technologies for recovering and refilling old goafs. Subsequently, Jiangxi Jinshan Mining Co., Ltd. and the Changchun Gold Research Institute took the downhole empty area of ​​the Wanjiawu mining area of ​​the Jinshan orefield as a sample to carry out a systemic study of the recovery of the ore and the backfill of old goafs. A breakthrough was made on the three topics of the treatment plan study, the filling system and filling process research, and the recovery of residual ore, and only 412.34 kg of gold metal was recovered during the test period. Among them, the beam-shaped medium-deep hole technology, for the first time, the use of full trackless mechanization in the recovery of residual mines, greatly improving the recovery efficiency of residual mines; the combined dewatering technology of full-face flexible dewatering pipes and drainage holes, making the tailings fill the underground area During the process, high-efficiency dewatering was achieved, the filling cycle was reduced, and the filling efficiency was improved.

Among them, the use of trackless equipment, the total recovery of 126,000 tons of residual amounts of 253.26 kilograms of metal production; the use of bundles of medium and deep hole technology to recover a total of 82,000 tons of residual ore, the amount of 159.08 kilograms of metal produced. The birth of these two major ore recovery technologies has also laid the foundation for the company to recover 655,000 tons of ore still remaining underground, and it is expected to increase the benefits for the mine by 50 million yuan; after the recovery of the residue is completed, the empty areas will be filled with tailings. Each year, the mine can reduce tailings emissions by about 240,000 cubic meters, and achieve a good harvest of economic, social, and environmental benefits.

This innovative result of China National Gold Group has enabled China to solve the problem of recovering residual resources from old mines and backfilling of old goafs. This has resulted in the backfilling of old goafs and the complete elimination of ground subsidence. At the same time, the mineral resources have been recovered to the maximum extent.
