At 2:10 pm on March 16, the first sexually-controlled embryo transfer quick-producing cow in Anhui Province was born in Hefei Xinhua Breeding Co., Ltd. in Feidong County, which filled a gap in Anhui Province. At present, this calf is in good condition.
In June 2007, through the use of gender control technology, the first batch of advanced technology for the transfer of black-and-white cow embryos was applied at the Xinhua Breeding Company in Feidong County. By the afternoon of March 16, 2008, four gravid cattle have begun to produce puerpera, and at the end of March, four high-yielding Holstein cows will be successfully produced.
This advanced technology was jointly undertaken by the Faculty of Animal Science and Technology of Anhui Agricultural University and the Bureau of Animal Husbandry and Aquaculture of the Feidong County Science and Technology Bureau. The two high-yielding Holstein dairy cows were used as donors for superovulation, egg collection, egg retrieval, and recipient cattle. During the same period of estrus treatment, a total of 7 recipients of yellow cattle were transplanted, 4 were successfully fetused, and the conception rate was 57%.
The promotion and application of this advanced technology has filled a gap in the high-tech reproduction technology of dairy cows in Anhui Province, and will greatly promote the rapid expansion and variety improvement of dairy cows in the province, which is of great significance for promoting the development of the dairy cow industry.
