Sample cup installation and use

Nanjing Kirin Instruments has a variety of models of sample cups, suitable for users of different working conditions. Clean the residual sand on the cup holder before installing the sample cup to prevent poor contact after the sample cup is installed. Checking whether the cup holder is overheated (>50 °C) affects the accuracy of the cold end compensation. When the sample cup is installed, it is compacted from the top of the cup holder. When the measurement status indicates “sample cup ready” and the Temp column displays room temperature, the sample cup is qualified.
Preparation of sampling spoon

The volume of the sample made of refractory material should be twice the volume of the sample cup. The materials and coatings of the repaired spoon should not be mixed with carbon material. Thoroughly dry and preheat before use. Dilute with hot metal before sampling and confirm that there is no residual iron in the spoon. When there is residual iron in the sample spoon, the degree of whitening of the solidified molten iron is insufficient due to the chilled core, and eutectic and supercooling occurs, which affects the measurement accuracy.



Timing of sampling

The charge is completely melted, the recarburizer on the surface of the molten iron is completely melted, and the surface of the removed molten iron has no conjunctiva before the first sampling measurement. When there is an unmelted material in the molten iron, the eutectic supercooling of the solidified molten iron occurs, which affects the measurement accuracy. The molten iron should be heated and heated before sampling and measurement. After adjusting the molten iron component to the recarburizer, ferrosilicon, ferromanganese or scrap steel, it should be heated again for 5-10 minutes before the feed is completely melted. The chilled core after the addition will cause eutectic and supercooling of the solidified molten iron, which will affect the measurement accuracy.
