Fu Nike develops new high strength CBN single crystal abrasive

Abstract After years of dedicated research and development in high-temperature and high-pressure synthesis technology for cubic boron nitride (CBN) single crystals, the Fu Nike R&D team has successfully developed a new high-strength CBN abrasive—CBN950. This advanced material features a flawless crystal structure, excellent fracture toughness, and a high grinding ratio, making it ideal for long-lasting grinding tools. With a density of 3.48 g/cm³, CBN950 excels in grinding hardened tool steels, carbon steels, and alloy steels. It is especially suitable for tough, high-hardness metals such as nickel-based and cobalt-based superalloys and heat-resistant stainless steels. As a preferred abrasive for electroplated and ceramic-bonded grinding wheels, CBN950 offers superior performance and durability. The product has already been launched on the market and demonstrates competitive performance in key areas like heat resistance and strength compared to top foreign abrasives.
