Zero pollution fuel cell ship available

The first hydrogen-fueled fuel cell ship developed by Shanghai Maritime University was launched. Recently, this fuel cell ship named "Tianxiang No. 1" was actually operated in the Qingpu waters of Shanghai.
The bright colors of orange and white, the streamlined boat at the front and the rear, the spacious and comfortable two-person seat... At first glance, the fuel cell boat parked in the lake is no different from the general small yacht, but there is a place to open: In the trunk, I saw a cylinder with a length of more than 1 meter and a diameter of about 30 centimeters lying on the side. The front is a 25-inch TV-sized "black box" fuel cell. Professor Shi Weifeng of the school explained that the air reacts with the hydrogen stored in the cylinder to generate electricity in the “black box” and directly drives the hull. According to the actual measurement in the Qingpu waters, the 14-cubic-meter hydrogen gas can make the boat sail for 5 hours at a speed of 14 kilometers per hour. At the same time, the safety device integrated in the system will monitor the hydrogen content of the air in the cabin at any time. In case the cylinder leaks, it will immediately sound a buzzer.
The ship inhales hydrogen, which is the "pure water" produced by the chemical reaction of hydrogen and oxygen. The researchers said that as long as the waste pipeline on the ship is clean, the water can be drunk directly. A property company said that the artificial water features of the managed community require such a hydrogen-powered ship. West Lake, Dianchi and other aspects also expressed strong interest in this.
It is understood that fuel cell ships play a big role in science and industry. Professor Huang Yunqian's example: Using low-noise fuel cell drive technology, scientific research vessels can detect more accurate deep-sea data. Applying this technology to LNG carriers that specialize in LNG is safer and more environmentally friendly.
