Jiangxi prospecting has been "blowout" development

In a recent report, it was revealed that Jiangxi Province has made remarkable progress in its strategic mineral exploration efforts in 2013. According to the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Land and Resources and the Jiangxi Provincial Geological Prospecting Bureau, significant breakthroughs have been achieved, potentially reshaping the province's mineral resource landscape. A total of 15 new mineral deposits were discovered, with five large and five medium-sized deposits submitted, totaling an estimated economic value of 115.5 billion yuan. Additionally, seven old mine projects were successfully declared, and the provincial geological survey project was implemented. Six key national-level reconnaissance areas were established, with the Xiangshan and Taqian-Zhuxi-Fuchun regions designated as priority zones for further exploration. Last year saw a surge in deep mineral exploration across Jiangxi. The Jiurui area continued to show promising results in tungsten and copper exploration, while the Wuhu Dahutang tungsten deposit attracted widespread attention, with potential resources expected to double. In Jiujiang’s Jinjiwo copper deposit, 600,000 tons of copper resources were confirmed. Meanwhile, the Zhuxi mining area in Fuliang, located in northeastern Yunnan, emerged as a standout discovery, with prospective resources of 2 million tons of tungsten and 1 million tons of copper. The maximum ore thickness reached 578 meters. The Lotus Xiaojiang coal mine is projected to hold 100 million tons of resources, while the Yizhong iron ore field showed great potential, with 100 million tons of new proven reserves. Shishan fluorite resources are estimated at 2 million tons, and the Xiangtan Park Gypsum Mine has over 9 million tons of proven reserves. Jiangxi also made notable advances in shale gas exploration, with major layer geological resources reaching 1.7 trillion cubic meters in key areas. Basic geological work progressed steadily, supporting the second phase of the “358” exploration initiative. The province completed shale gas exploration in the Xiuwu Basin, measured the Early Triassic stratigraphic section, and compiled comprehensive geological maps and reports. New research on South China’s geological structure and metallogenic patterns advanced significantly. Furthermore, Jiangxi increased investment in public geology, restored eight abandoned mining sites, and achieved recognition for 11 national-level green mines and four provincial-level ones. On the legal front, Jiangxi made progress in land and resource governance. The Provincial People’s Government passed the "Regulations on Prevention and Control of Geological Hazards" and issued plans for the exploration, development, and protection of rare earth and tungsten resources. These developments mark a pivotal step forward in the sustainable management and utilization of Jiangxi’s rich natural resources.
