Huntsman US Capitol promotes polyurethane spray foam

Huntsman announced that it will participate in the Autumn Environment and Energy Show held at the Washington Capitol Building in the United States and will present its polyurethane spray foam at the exhibition.

This activity aims to popularize and promote the originality and energy-saving creativity of green buildings to the US Congress. Participants were able to learn in the exhibition how energy is generating energy waste in old buildings, and how builders can retrofit existing energy-consuming buildings.

According to the statistics of the U.S. Department of Energy, building energy consumption in the United States accounts for about 40% of the total energy consumption. The main energy consumption of buildings comes from heating and cooling, and a considerable portion of these energy sources are wasted due to the tightness of buildings. Polyurethane spray foam has the characteristics of thermal insulation and good sealing performance so that this type of problem is well resolved. With the use of polyurethane spray foam, the use of energy for heating and cooling in buildings can be reduced by 30%-50% compared to existing buildings. Polyurethane spray foam can be used in both new buildings and in the refurbishment of existing buildings.

“Huntsman is honored to be invited to participate in this environmental and energy exhibition,” said Monica Karamaki, Huntsman Polyurethane Marketing Manager. “Polyurethane spray foam can effectively help reduce energy losses. Architects should consider it more appropriate. Polyurethane spray foam is designated for use in the building, and the federal government should also make relevant policies on the licensing policy."
