Composite Cardboard Technology Makes Cardboard Production "Civilian"

Recently, the author learned from the State Intellectual Property Office that the four technologies developed by Liaoning Dandong Tianyuan Light Industry Packaging Machinery Co., Ltd. for the production of composite cardboard have obtained national invention patents. These four patents are cardboard reel composite technology, dual-gray corrugated cardboard production process, double-sided drying of paperboard, and application of positive and negative gluing technology for glue-coated core paper, and glue volume gap control and adjustment technology.

Experts pointed out that these technologies have filled the gaps in our country.

People in the industry often call cardboard with a thickness of more than 2 mm and a weight of more than 500 g/m2. Due to its high strength, environmental protection, and recyclability, cardboard is widely used in stationery, printing, architectural decoration, and honeycomb paperboard industries.

For a long time, China has used special paper machines to produce cardboard. According to reports, the introduction of a cardboard paper machine to invest tens of millions of yuan, but also need to be equipped with environmental protection facilities, the total investment to be 100 million yuan, the general paper-making enterprises are powerless.

The cardboard composite production line launched by Dandong Tianyuan only needs to invest 1 million to 3 million yuan, daily production can reach 60 tons to 90 tons, and the composite thickness can reach 5 millimeters at most, and it can achieve clean production.

Cardboard composite technology is achieved through advanced cardboard composite machines. It can bond up to 5 layers of different weights and different materials of web or paperboard through corn starch adhesive to make gram weight from 500 g/m2 to 2500 g/m2 and thickness up to 5 Mm cardboard.

At present, Dandong Tianyuan has sold 40 cardboard composite production lines. Users report that the cardboard composite production line can add 300-500 yuan per ton of paper after compounding, which will bring considerable economic benefits to the company.

Wang Min, general manager of Liaoning Dandong Tianyuan Light Industry Packaging Machinery Co., Ltd., which has long been in contact with paper-making companies and is familiar with paper-making machinery, said that users have different requirements for the composition of thick cardboard materials, such as the use of cowhide, color cards, white cardboard, etc. Sheetboard, which not only guarantees the strength of the board, but also costs less than the pure cowhide board. At present, paper mills cannot produce such paperboards using conventional papermaking machinery.

Wang Hao emphasized that the four patented technologies of Dandong Tianyuan have high technological content and can ensure that the quality of products reaches the domestic first-rate level.

In the production line, the rubber roll control technology is very important. The size of the rubber roll gap is related to the uniformity of the paperboard glue. Excessive amount of glue or uneven coating will directly affect the adhesive strength and flatness of the paperboard. Dandong Tianyuan's rubberizing roller control technology can accurately control the rubberizing roller and can adjust the gap of the rubber roller to zero. When the equipment applies double-sided glue to the thin paper, it can prevent the paperboard surface from wrinkling due to excessive glue application.

The second item is a plate double-sided drying technique. After the board is compounded, it needs to be dried. The technology adopts the drying process on the upper and lower sides to avoid the deformation phenomenon caused by the shrinkage of the two sides of the paperboard on one side of the board. It is more important to ensure the water content, tightness, stiffness and flatness of the board. Meet design requirements.

The third item is double-gray corrugated cardboard production technology. Double grey cardboard is a composite of 3 kinds of paperboards, grey paper for front paper and bottom paper, and E or corrugated paper for the middle layer. In this way, the thickness and strength of the composite board can meet user requirements on the one hand, and reduce the weight and production cost of the board on the other hand. For example, to produce a three-layer composite board with a thickness of 2.4 mm, three layers of gray board with a basis weight of 500 g/m2 are compounded and the combined weight is 1500 g/m2. If a gray board with a surface of 350 g/m2 is used and 105 g/m2 of E-corrugated or F-corrugated board is used in the middle, the combined board thickness is 2.4 mm and the total grammage is only 800 g/m2. This technology fully embodies the design concept of high efficiency and low consumption of Dandong Tianyuan.

Cardboard composite technology focuses on energy saving and cleaner production. The raw materials used in the production line are cardboard and corn starch adhesives, and harmful substances are not discharged during the production process; the drying section uses the waste heat of the paper mill, which saves the energy consumption of the composite machine. According to calculations, if the drying temperature is 150°C, using a special boiler for steam heating, it will cost around 80 yuan per hour. According to the production time of 10 hours per day, the energy investment required for drying each day is 800 yuan. The energy expenditure of nearly 300,000 yuan. The use of waste heat enables companies to save money and reduce production costs.

According to some papermaking companies, the domestic cardboard composite production line meets the needs of users to produce a variety of products, reflecting the small investment in equipment. Up to now, Dandong Tianyuan has sold 40 cardboard composite production lines with a width of 1.3 meters to 1.8 meters and a line speed of 60 meters/minute to 100 meters/minute.

Guangdong Dongguan Jintian Paper Co., Ltd. is a professional papermaking company producing grey paper, whiteboard paper and other packaging paper. Before 2007, the company's annual production was only 400,000 tons. Since 2007, Jintian Paper Co., Ltd. has successively purchased 12 composite board production lines from Dandong Tianyuan to carry out secondary compounding of paperboard produced in the papermaking workshop. This has increased the company's annual output from 400,000 tons to 600,000 tons. The products have evolved from a single double-sided grey paperboard to a variety of varieties such as kraft paperboard, woodgrain paperboard, and color cardboard.

In the past two years, a paper mill in Zhejiang province often encountered a request for a customer to order a composite board with a basis weight of 1,000 g/m2, kraft paper, and grey paper. Despite the relatively large order quantity, the plant did not take orders because there was no corresponding equipment.

In early 2010, the plant purchased a cardboard composite production line and began mass production of composite paperboards ordered by customers, thereby increasing the economic efficiency of the company.

According to some paper mills, composite cardboard is widely used. Downstream customers often use composite cardboard as an internal packaging for panels, decorative materials and packaging boxes for honeycomb paperboard. The user said that the composite paperboard production line can flexibly adjust the material of the paper according to the user's requirements.
