Using Eco-friendly Energy Generic India Enables Liquefied Natural Gas Plant

GM India recently announced the official opening of a LNG plant that supplies natural gas to the General Motors India plant.

Previously, GM and Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) and INOX India have entered into a cooperation agreement to supply natural gas to GM's Halol Automotive Plant in Gujarat, India.

Karl Slym, President and Executive Director of GM, said: "GM has promised to produce sustainable vehicles. Now our environmental protection concept has extended to factories that produce green vehicles."

LNG is cheaper, cleaner and more environmentally friendly than LPG. In addition, GM and the U.S. Department of Energy signed a five-year cooperation agreement with India’s CSMCRI Institute to jointly develop Jatropha as a sustainable biofuel.
